Abstract

Urban parks, as public open spaces, play a crucial role in improving the quality of the urban environment while providing recreational space for the community. Visitor satisfaction is a key indicator in assessing park quality, influenced by the park's ability to meet visitors' needs, rights, and meaning. This study aims to identify the availability of facilities and vegetation, the types of visitor activities, and analyze visitor satisfaction with the quality of Kayu Putih Park in Pekanbaru City. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a non-probability sampling technique through accidental sampling. Data were obtained through field observations and questionnaires distributed to park visitors. The research instrument was structured based on three main assessment aspects: needs, rights, and meaning, encompassing parameters of comfort, cleanliness, safety, accessibility, and sociability. The results show that Kayu Putih Park has 13 types of facilities and 14 types of vegetation, divided into shade and aesthetic vegetation, and 8 main types of visitor activities based on recreation, sports, and social functions. Based on the analysis of visitor satisfaction, a total score of 9,893 was obtained, categorized as Satisfied. The needs aspect scored 5,069, the rights aspect 3,589, and the meaning aspect 1,235, all of which were in the Satisfaction category. These results indicate that the park has functioned well as a comfortable and inclusive public open space, but improvements in cleanliness and facility maintenance are still needed to optimize the visitor experience.
