Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of surveillance conducted by the Center for Food and Drug Administration through the Field Investigation in the packaging of food products in the city of Pekanbaru. Assessment indicators used include setting standards, comparing performance against standards, taking corrective action. Method wich is a method of research used a combination of qualitative and quantitative. This research can be categorized as descriptive research that prioritizes a list of the questionnaire as a means of data collection and data collected by the tool is then made in the main raw material to analyze the condition of the objectivity of empirical research on the location where the destination carefully. As for the location of this study in a large hall at the Food and Drug Administration Pekanbaru, with four groups of the population and the sample in this study is an employee assessment and investigation fields totaling 18 people, and food distributors amounted to 36. Two sampling techniques were used in determining the individual samples, for examination and investigation in the field of employee use and census techniques for minimarkets using cluster sampling. Types and data collection techniques used consisted of primary data collected by questionnaire technique, interview, and observation and secondary data collected through documents, books, and records that are documentation. While the data analysis technique used is to use a frequency table tool. Based on this analysis technique researchers assess and conclude that the supervision of food products packaged by the Center for Food and Drug Administration in Pekanbaru (Field Inspection and Investigation) is in the interval assessment done enough. Recommendations to be considered especially with respect to implementation supervision must be optimized again to protect the public from the harmful food product packaging.
