Abstract

Crude oil production in Indonesia is currently in decline, as most of the oil is produce d from mature fie lds. One of the solutions to overcome this decline is the application of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Among the EOR methods , Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (MEOR) is a promising approach . This method utilizes microorganisms capable of producin g lpopeptide biosurfactants, which are active compounds that can reduce oil-water interfacial tension, thereby enhancing oil reco very. In this study. Bac illus cereus was used at various concentrations (5%, 10% and 15%) with the addition of 10% NaCl to the bact erial culture. The experiment was conducted using the spontaneous imbibition method to determine the recovery factor by observing the amount of oil released from the rock pores under static conditions. In this test, it was proven that the addition of 10% NaCl to the Bacillus cereus bacteria in chili and palm oil at the best concentration, namely 15% was able to ncrease oil yield by 36.4% for chili bacteria and 28.0% for palm oil bacte ria, Of the two bacteria used, the optimal bacteria for increasing oil yield is the Bacillus Cereus Cabat bacteria
