Abstract

The construction sector makes a significant contribution to national economic growth but also records a high rate of workplace accidents. The implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is an essential aspect in supporting productivity, although in many construction projects it has not been optimally applied. This study aims to analyze the influence of occupational safety and health on work productivity in the Construction Project of UPT Vertikal Hospital Riau. The research employed a quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 54 respondents who were construction workers. The results show that occupational safety has a positive and significant effect on productivity, with a t-statistic of 2.774 and a p-value of 0.003. Equipment and machinery were identified as the most influential factors in this variable. Furthermore, occupational health also has a positive and significant effect, with a t-statistic of 7.228 and a p-value of 0.000, where health facilities for workers were found to be the most dominant factor. Between the two variables, occupational health demonstrates a stronger effect on productivity, with an fsquare value of 0.47, categorized as very strong. These findings emphasize that optimizing OSH implementation, particularly the health aspect, plays a critical role in improving labor productivity and ensuring the efficiency of construction projects.
