Abstract

The sharia capital market was one of the important instruments in supporting economic growth based on Islamic principles. However, the low level of literacy and public participation remained an obstacle to the development of the sharia capital market in Indonesia. The research problem in this study was how sharia investment knowledge influenced investment interest in the sharia capital market. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of sharia investment knowledge on investment interest in the sharia capital market among members of the Beginner Stock Investor (ISP) Community in Pekanbaru City. The subjects of this study were members of the ISP Community in Pekanbaru City, with a total population of 156 people. The sample was determined using Slovin’s formula with a 10% margin of error, resulting in 61 respondents. This study employed a quantitative research method with a correlational approach. The data were collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis techniques used included simple linear regression, t-test (partial), and the calculation of the coefficient of determination with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The findings of the study indicated that sharia investment knowledge had a positive and significant effect on investment interest in the sharia capital market. This finding suggested that the better the respondents understood the principles, instruments, risks, and mechanisms of sharia investment, the higher their tendency to participate actively in the sharia capital market.
