Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes in the Fiqh lesson on Congregational Prayer and was conducted to improve the suboptimal learning process. The study aimed to determine whether the implementation of demonstration method could improve student learning outcomes in the Fiqh lesson on Congregational Prayer in class VII 1 at MTs An-Najjah Pekanbaru in the Odd Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The improvement was carried out in one cycle, with two meetings in the cycle. In the pre-cycle meeting, the student learning outcomes were still very low, with an average score of 73.2 and only 13 out of 21 students achieving passing grade (62%). After conducting Classroom Action Research (CAR), the results of learning outcomes improved in Cycle I. Of the 21 students who achieved above the Minimum Passing Grade (KKM) of 75 at the first meeting of Cycle I with 13 students (62%) passed, while 8 students failed. At the second meeting of Cycle I, 20 students (95%) passed but only 1 student (5%) failed. The average student score reached 82, indicating that the average student score was above the Minimum Passing Grade (KKM) of 75. In conclusion, the implementation of the demonstration method could improve student learning outcomes in the Fiqh lesson on congregational prayer in grade VII at MTs An Najjah Pekanbaru in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.
