Abstract

The growth of the insurance industry is strongly influenced by a country's economic conditions. Although the Indonesian economy experienced a growth slowdown, the insurance industry in Indonesia is actually expected to experience increased growth. Besides being influenced by the country's economic conditions, the growth of the insurance industry is also determined by insurance agents. This very high performance is inseparable from matters related to self-confidence or self-efficacy. The population in this study was PT. Prudential Life Assurance in Pekanbaru with a sample size of 250 people. The sample was taken using a saturated sampling technique, namely by taking the entire population as a sample. The measuring instrument used in this study was the self-efficacy scale and the performance scale. The hypothesis was tested using a simple regression test correlation analysis method. The results of the analysis showed that there was an influence between selfefficacy and performance with a significant value of 0.000 with an influence value of 81.2%.
