Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the duties of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in handling fire incidents in Siak Regency, particularly in Bungaraya District. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with data collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews involving BPBD officers and local residents of Bungaraya District. The study focused on four main indicators: timely utilization of work time, amount of output, cooperation, and quality of work. The results showed that the implementation of BPBD’s duties in fire management was generally well executed. The indicator of time utilization was categorized as fairly implemented, indicating good response time with room for improvement. The output indicator was also fairly implemented, reflecting that activity results were not yet optimal due to limited facilities and personnel. The cooperation indicator was well implemented, showing effective coordination among agencies and communities. Meanwhile, the quality of work indicator achieved the highest result, categorized as well implemented, reflecting professionalism and responsibility among BPBD officers. Overall, the implementation of BPBD’s duties in Bungaraya District has been carried out effectively, although improvements in time efficiency and resource distribution are still needed.
