Abstract
This research aims to analyze the learning process in the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) at SDN 170 Pekanbaru, which includes the stages of planning, implementation, and assessment. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research subjects consisted of the principal, fourth-grade teacher, and fourth-grade students. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teachers have implemented learning in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. In the planning stage, teachers prepared diagnostic assessments, developed teaching modules, and adjusted learning activities based on students’ characteristics. During implementation, teachers acted as facilitators by applying differentiated and project-based learning to enhance student engagement. In the assessment stage, teachers conducted authentic formative and summative evaluations and provided constructive feedback. Overall, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SDN 170 Pekanbaru has led to a flexible, contextual, and student-centered learning process. However, improvements are still needed in teacher reflection and consistency to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
