Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Outing Class method on student learning outcomes in the science subject of ecosystems in fifth-grade students at SDN 141 Pekanbaru. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design model. The sample consisted of 33 students: 16 students in the experimental class (using Outing Class) and 17 students in the control class (using conventional learning). The research instrument was a 10-item objective test that was validated (100% very valid) and reliable (α = 0.709). The results of normality and homogeneity tests showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of a simple linear regression test showed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a regression coefficient of 0.689, indicating that the Outing Class method had a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes. These findings confirm that experiential learning can improve student understanding and engagement in science learning, particularly in ecosystems.
