Abstract
Mr. Supardi has been running his tofu agroindustry business since 2011, however the business has faced two main problems: the high cost of raw materials due to increased soybean prices and low production technology capacity. The aim of this study is to analyze the following: (1) The characteristics of the entrepreneur and the profile of Mr. Supardi's tofu agroindustry business. (2) Analyzing the use of production factors, raw materials, supporting materials, and processing technology in the tofu industry. (3) Analyzing the production process, production costs, production volume, prices, revenue, business efficiency, and added value in the tofu agroindustry business. This study employed a case study method conducted in Jayapura Village, Bungaraya Subdistrict, Siak Regency, Riau Province, over six months, from September 2024 to February 2025. Purposive sampling was used to select entrepreneurs as respondents. Data analysis employed quantitative and qualitative descriptive analyses, as well as a business management analysis approach and Hayami's method.The research results show that: (1) Tofu entrepreneurs have the following characteristics: They are 44 years old, have 12 years of education (equivalent to high school), have 14 years of business experience, and have four dependents. The business profile shows that the tofu agroindustry is classified as a microbusiness, with capital coming from the entrepreneur's equity, and employing two people. (2) The production factor analysis shows that the business premises measure 5x10 m², employ one worker and one owner, and the initial capital is Rp 15,000,000. One hundred kilograms of soybeans are used per production process. Supporting materials consist of 0.36 mL, 500 liters of water, and 1 kg of PE plastic, 1 ounce of rubber bands, 1 m³ of firewood, 5 liters of diesel, 1.83 Rp/kWh/day of electricity, and processing technology using a diesel engine and a grinding machine. (3) The production process involves selection, soaking, grinding, boiling, filtering, molding, cutting, cooling, and packaging. The production cost was Rp. 1,527,919 per production process. The production was 100 kg per production process. The price was Rp. 7,315 per kg. The gross revenue is Rp. 2,048,200 per production process. The net revenue was Rp. 531,207 per production process. The business efficiency was 1.35. The value added was Rp. 7,660 per kg. The business profit margin was 0.37%.
