Abstract

Games are one of the forms of interactive multimedia that is rapidly developing worldwide, including in Indonesia. One of its effective applications is in the field of education, such as in learning traditional dance. This study developed an educational game application for the Rentak Bulian dance, a traditional dance from the Talang Mamak tribe in Riau, based on the Android platform. The main objective of this game development is to enhance users’ enthusiasm for learning and to introduce local culture in a more effective, creative, and enjoyable way. The game was developed using Unity 3D, implementing the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) method in its design process. GDLC includes stages such as initiation, pre-production, production, testing, and release. To measure the effectiveness and reception of the application, testing was conducted by distributing a questionnaire to 45 respondents. Evaluation results showed that 87.96% of respondents strongly agreed that the application is engaging and suitable to be used as a learning medium. Therefore, this application is considered feasible for public implementation.
