Abstract

The door security system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) offers a smarter and more efficient solution compared to traditional security systems. This research aims to design and develop a home door security system based on IoT that is capable of providing early warnings against potential security threats. The system integrates several key components, namely the KY-031 sensor as a vibration detector, the reed switch to detect door status, and the ESP32-CAM as a visual monitoring device that captures images when suspicious activity occurs. Telegram is used as the platform for sending real-time notifications when abnormal activity is detected at the door. This study develops a door security monitoring system that utilizes knocking detection to identify the presence of guests and a camera for visual monitoring. These components are connected to a NodeMCU microcontroller, which serves as the IoT service platform. The NodeMCU sends data to Telegram, which functions as the notification system for monitoring the door's security status. With IoT integration, the home door security system is capable of sending alerts via Telegram notifications to the user, as well as enabling door access control through Telegram. The implementation of this technology can serve as an alternative solution for enhancing home door security systems.
