Abstract
The energy crisis and increasing electricity demand encourage the search for alternative energy sources that are environmentally friendly and efficient. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in the number of springs on the Pilates Reformer exercise equipment on the electrical energy produced. The method used is experimental with three variations in the number of springs (3, 4, and 5) to drive the BLDC motor connected to the alternator. The test results show that the addition of the number of springs is directly proportional to the increase in output energy and system efficiency. When using 5 springs, the output energy reaches 121.5 Joules with the highest efficiency of 4.899%. This study shows the potential of exercise equipment as a small-scale alternative energy source.
