Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of speed variations on the performance of the CATERPILLAR C11 engine in carrying out the drilling process. This engine is widely used in the mining and construction industries because it has reliable performance in various working conditions. The speed variations provided include changes in engine speed (RPM) with the aim of evaluating performance parameters such as fuel consumption, torque, engine power, and drilling work efficiency. The research method used is an experimental approach by conducting direct testing on the engine at several predetermined speed levels. The test data were then analyzed to determine the relationship between speed and engine performance. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between speed variations and engine performance, where a certain speed was able to provide optimal work efficiency without increasing fuel consumption excessively. These findings are expected to be a reference in the operation of the CATERPILLAR C11 engine to achieve maximum performance in the drilling process.
