Abstract
Developments from year to year, especially for pre- motor vehicles, must have a cooling system on gasoline, diesel, and electric cars, every vehicle must have a cooling system that is useful for preventing overheating in the vehicle. If there is no cooling system in the vehicle, damage will occur such as an increase in engine temperature, engine damage, and decreased engine performance due to the absence of a temperature control system in the vehicle. In the testing and analysis that I did, I used a Toyota Kijang 4K engine which was named an engine stand in the UIR Mechanical Engineering lab. In the testing that I did, I used three Coolants that I tested for 10 minutes with variations in rotation of 1500, 2000, and 2300. Measurements in this study were carried out by measuring the temperature of the air entering and leaving the radiator engine and the temperature of the Coolant entering and leaving the radiator engine. The parameters analyzed in this study were the relationship between thermal conductivity and rpm speed, radiator fluid mass flow rate, heat transfer rate, air mass flow rate in the radiator, the relationship between the overall heat transfer coefficient and the radiator fluid flowrate, the maximum fluid heat transfer rate, and radiator effectiveness.
