Abstract
This study aims to analyze the sensitivity of injection parameters toward the improvement of the oil recovery factor (RF) in an Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) scenario using the Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) flooding method. The simulation was conducted using CMG CMOST 2020 software with the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) approach. The reservoir model was built based on secondary data from field X using CMG GEM 2020, resulting in 500 experimental design scenarios. Six parameters were tested: Na⁺ (sodium) concentration, CO₃²⁻ (carbonate) concentration, surfactant concentration, surfactant adsorption, SO₄²⁻ (sulfate) concentration, and reservoir salinity. The validation process showed that the generated proxy model had a high level of accuracy compared to numerical simulation results, with most data falling within a 95% confidence interval. The analysis revealed that the inject surfactant parameter had the most significant impact, contributing 47% in the main effect and 22% in the interaction effect. The maximum RF achieved was 45.5%, an increase from the base model value of 42.6%. Reservoir salinity showed the lowest influence at only 0.32%. Morris and Sobol analyses further confirmed that surfactant variation had the most stable and significant effect on RF enhancement. In conclusion, surfactant is the key parameter in the success of ASP flooding. The RSM approach proves to be effective in identifying critical parameters and directing injection design optimization.
