Abstract

There are two conditions of oil production rate, namely steady state, which occurs when the well reaches equilibrium with the reservoir, and Unsteady State conditions, involving changes in production or reservoir variables. In this study, the equations of Pudji Permadi and Sada Joshi were chosen as the approaches for calculating the production flow rate. The calculation results show that the production rate under steady-state conditions (84.27 Bbl/Day) with the Pudji Permadi equation is lower than under unsteady-state conditions (103.17 Bbl/Day) with the Sada Joshi equation. This difference reflects a decrease in the production rate in unsteady-state conditions, illustrating the dynamic response of the well to changes in reservoir parameters. Both equations provide estimates below the critical flow rate (151.706 Bbl/Day), indicating production sustainability. This research emphasizes that the Pudji Permadi equation is suitable for stable estimates under steady-state conditions, while the Sada Joshi equation is more flexible in modeling the dynamics of production changes in unsteady-state conditions.
