Abstract
Most of the filler materials are natural products such as cement and stone ash which are increasingly limited in number and have high economic value. For this reason, it is necessary to innovate by using an alternative substitute material in the form of dolomite ash in an effort to obtain a more economical substitute material and the amount in the field is still large. This research uses the Marshall method according to SNI 06-2489-1991 to prepare specimens that meet the minimum size and aspect ratio requirements in uniaxial testing. This research aims to determine the effect of dolomite ash value as filler, to know the marshall characteristics of the mixture, and to know the percentage of mixture in dolomite ash as filler on the marshall characteristics of Wear Layered Laston (AC-BC) with variations in filler content of 0%, 50%, 75%, 100%. From the research results, the optimum asphalt content was obtained, namely 5.6% where the use of dolomite ash filler in AC - BC mixtures with 0%, 50%, 75%, and 100% variations obtained an increase in VFA, Stability, and Flow values, while there was a decrease in VMA, and VIM values along with the addition of filler levels. Marshall test results on AC - BC mixtures on the effect of using dolomite ash filler obtained VMA, VFA and Stability values for all filler levels used in this test meet the requirements in accordance with Bina marga 2018 Specifications. The addition of dolomite ash to AC-BC asphalt mixtures increases the value of Marshall characteristics in VFA, Stability, and Flow but decreases in VMA and VIM. The greater the filler content used, the smaller the VMA and VIM values. The percentage of dolomite ash filler content that meets all the values according to the 2018 Bina Marga Specification with variations in filler content between 0% and 50%.
