Abstract
With the high economic activities around the Sudirman Street area from Pekanbaru Mall towards the Sudirman Trade Center (STC) pedestrian bridge, the demand for parking has increased. One example of the type of parking that is often chosen is parking on the roadside, which has the potential to disrupt traffic flow. This situation is exacerbated when users perform parking maneuvers, to perform parking maneuvers certainly requires space and time, especially for parking with an angled pattern. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of parking, analyze the influence of parking on the roadside on traffic flow and analyze the magnitude of the influence of vehicle maneuver movements parked on the roadside on traffic characteristics on Sudirman Street between in front of Pekanbaru Mall to the intersection of Jl. Tengku Zainal Abidin. The primary data collection method is the field observation method. The collected data will be processed based on the quantitative analysis method based on each characteristic in Microsoft Excel and will be displayed in the form of tables and graphs. The location is centered on the parking area, precisely starting from the starting point in front of Pekanbaru Mall to the intersection of Jl. Tengku Zainal Abidin. Along the area used as the research location, there is parking that uses the road as a parking space with an angled parking pattern. This study resulted in the magnitude of parking characteristics seen from the parking index on the Sudirman road in front of Pekanbaru Mall to the intersection of Jl. Tengku Zainal Abidin consecutively for 3 days, the results showed that IP <1, meaning that parking facilities were not problematic. Vehicle parking maneuvers on the road in front of Pekanbaru Mall to the intersection of Jl. Tengku Zainal Abidin affected traffic. The effect of parking maneuvers on Saturdays on density increased by 15.22%. While the speed value decreased by 38.517%. And the value of vehicle volume decreased by 27.480%. And the effect of parking maneuvers on Sunday on density increased by 22.238%. While the speed value increased by 32.766%. And the value of vehicle volume decreased by 13.539%. While the effect of parking maneuvers on Monday on density increased by 13.347%. While the speed value decreased by 37.794%. And the value of vehicle volume increased by 28.213%.
