Abstract

Materials that are usually used as fillers in AC-WC pavement mixtures are cement and stone ash, which have relatively expensive prices and limited supplies. Therefore, it is necessary to research using other alternative materials as filler replacement materials. One of the alternative materials is napal stone, napal stone contains chemical compounds in the form of CACO3. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of napal stone on the AC-WC mixture on the marshall value. The percentage variation of the utilization of napal stone as a filler substitute is 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the total weight of stone ash filler. This research uses the Marshall testing method which refers to the 2018 Bina Marga Specification, Revision 2. In this study, the optimum asphalt content was obtained, namely 5.4%. The greater the percentage of filler used in the mixture, the VMA and VIM values increase, but for the VFA parameters in the 0%, 25%, and 100% variations that meet the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications, Revision 2. The stability values for the percentage of napal stone use as a substitute for filler from smallest to largest are 2422.1 Kg, 2396.195 Kg, 2180, 321 Kg, 2167.369 Kg and 1826.289 Kg. Although there is a decrease in stability, it still meets the standards set. The flow value in this study has decreased and increased, but is still within the standard specifications. In this study, the variation that uses napal stone filler does not meet the minimum requirements of Bina Marga Specification 2018, Revision 2.
