Abstract

As the population increases and land use changes from open areas to built-up areas, there is significant pressure on the drainage system. One of the roads in Pekanbaru City, Jalan Tengku Bey, which is located in Bukit Raya Sub-district, Pekanbaru City, Riau, always experiences flooding. Flooding that occurs when the water capacity cannot be accommodated by the drainage itself so that it overflows and causes inundation that is detrimental and endangers local residents for those passing by. The purpose of this research is to analyze the existing flood discharge of the drainage channel on Jl. Tengku Bey and analyze the channel dimensions that can accommodate the existing channel discharge. In solving the problem of inundation that occurs, maximum rainfall data, hydraulics data (direct observation) are needed. After the maximum rainfall is obtained, then proceed to analyze the rain intensity, standard deviation analysis for the analysis of the return time using the Log Person III method. Then, from the distribution test results it is continued by calculating the existing channel discharge. From the results of the analysis that has been carried out, a channel discharge of Q =3.9837 m 3 /det is obtained. For the results of the analysis of the plan discharge calculation, 106.286 m /det was obtained. Then the existing drainage channel needs to be repaired or enlarged. Based on the results of the calculation on the re-planning of the dimensions of the drainage channel, based on the results of the calculation shows that the channel discharge is greater than the plan discharge, which is 199,955m 3 /det >106.286 m 3 3 /det. Then the dimensions of the drainage channel in the re-planning are sufficient to accommodate the amount of discharge.
