Abstract
At MTs Darussalam Islamic Boarding School of Saran Kabun, Rokan Hulu, Riau, the implementation of noble morals in the daily lives of students faced a number of significant challenges. Despite teachers' efforts to instill moral values through structured teaching and personal example, some student behaviors still did not reflect the religious and ethical teachings taught at the school. The problem formulation of the study was how the teachers’ efforts in improving the students’ morals in grade VII at MTs Darussalam Islamic Boarding School of Saran Kabun, Rokan Hulu, Riau and what were the inhibiting and supporting factors of the teachers’ efforts to improve the students’ morals. The aim of the study was to investigate the teachers’ efforts in improving students’ morals in grade VII at MTs Darussalam Islamic Boarding School of Saran Kabun, Rokan Hulu, Riau and to find out the inhibiting and supporting factors of the teachers’ efforts to improve the students’ morals. This was a descriptive qualitative study. The objects of the study were Islamic Education Teachers, Homeroom Teachers of grade VII and Guidance and Counseling Teachers at MTs Darussalam Islamic Boarding School of Saran Kabun, Rokan Hulu, Riau. The results and conclusions of the study were the teachers had a strategic role in fostering students’ morals, both as facilitators, motivators, mediators, and evaluators who guide emotionally, socially, and spiritually. At MTs Darussalam Islamic Boarding School of Saran Kabun, the moral development was carried out integrally through a religious atmosphere, social control, and a personal approach despite being faced with several obstacles. Integrated strategies such as active student involvement, collaboration with parents, and counselor support demonstrated that the moral development was carried out holistically and sustainably.
