Abstract

In today's digital era, there has been a significant change in customer behavior when conducting banking transactions. One form of service offered by banks is mobile banking, which allows customers to transact flexibly, anytime and anywhere. The convenience offered by this service also encourages customers to behave more consumptive in online transactions. However, there are problems for consumers regarding hacking through mobile banking services. The consumer protection law regulates consumer rights and also Law No. 10 of 1998 concerning Banking. The main problem in this research is how to legally protect consumers regarding mobile banking against hacking. What are the legal obstacles for PT Bank BRI Pangkalan Kerinci branch regarding hacking of mobile banking services The type of research used is sociological empirical legal research, where this type of legal research is carried out directly through interviews so that you get an overview of legal rules, legal principles and then analyzed In the implementation of mobile banking services, there are currently no statutory regulations that specifically regulate mobile banking service products. In this case, mobile banking account breaches carried out by irresponsible parties often result in material losses for customers. Obstacles in obtaining legal protection include obstacles in the form of non-strict legal regulations as well as the use of more sophisticated encryption technology and strengthening internal policies to prevent hacking
