Abstract
Amid rapid technological advancement, the construction industry still heavily relies on conventional methods such as AutoCAD and Excel, which are prone to errors and inefficiencies. This issue is evident in the structural planning of a fivestory hospital building in Pekanbaru, which has yet to adopt Building Information Modeling (BIM). This study utilizes Autodesk Revit to implement BIM for structural modeling, quantity take-off, and cost estimation. The results are compared with conventional methods (existing BOQ) to evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of BIM in construction planning. Based on the analysis, Revit produced a concrete volume of 2,244.35 m³, which is 15,54 m³ (−0.69%) less than the manual calculation. The reinforcement volume from Revit was 504,061.01 kg, with a difference of −14,822.45 kg (−2.86%). The estimated cost using Revit was IDR 16.97 billion, saving IDR 413.95 million (−2.38%). These differences result from modeling efficiency, accurate input, and a more precise technical approach. The implementation of BIM has proven to enhance efficiency and accuracy in building structure planning.
