Abstract

This study describes the results of framing the controversy on the issue of the China-Taiwan military conflict in the news media Detikcom and Al-Jazeera. The data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and also archives. The object of research was a collection of news articles on Detikcom and Al-Jazeera during the January-December 2024 period. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method using the framing analysis technique of the Robert model. N. Entman, with four stages of analysis, namely define problem, diagnoses causes, make moral judgments, and treatment recommendation. The results of the study show that the news framing pattern in the Detikcom media prioritizes consistency and intensity in the presentation of news, but the delivery of information is only limited to descriptive narratives. Meanwhile, at Al-Jazeera, the pattern of framing news not only prioritizes the consistency and intensity of the news, but also maintains the quality of good news content with a fairly indepth news narrative pattern.
