Abstract

The phenomena that occur in this study can be seen as Indicated that the Tourism and Culture Office of Rokan Hulu Regency has not yet increased the development of tourist destinations in Aek Martua. It is indicated that the Tourism and Culture Office of Rokan Hulu Regency has not completed the target of the work program. It is still indicated that the weakness of tourist destinations causes the management of Aek Martua tourism to be inadequate. The number of visitors has decreased significantly because tourist destinations have not been managed properly. Still lacking in publicizing tourist destinations as a driver of tourist attraction. The purpose of the study was to determine the role of the Tourism and Culture Office in the Development of Aek Martua Tourism Destinations in Rokan Hulu Regency and to determine the inhibiting factors in carrying out the role of the Tourism and Culture Office in the Development of Aek Martua Tourism Destinations in Rokan Hulu Regency. The type of research that will be used by this study is a descriptive survey with a quantitative method. The informants in this study consisted of the Head of the Tourism Office of Rokan Hulu Regency, the Head of Bangun Purba Village, the Sadar Wisata Community, the Surrounding Community, and Tourist Visitors. The data collection techniques used in this study were Questionnaires, Observations, Interviews, and Documents. Based on the results of the study conducted related to the Role of the Tourism and Culture Office in Developing the Aek Martua Tourist Destination in Rokan Hulu Regency, it is known that the role of the Tourism and Culture Office in Developing the Aek Martua Tourist Destination in Rokan Hulu Regency is lacking. This can be seen from the distribution of questionnaires of 48.98% with the category of less role. While in terms of obstacles, it can be seen from the facilities that are still lacking and government coordination is still lacking.
