Abstract
his research aims to study high frequency words in a Q1 scientific journal which was selected from SIELE. The researcher used quantitative research method in this study. In collecting data, NVIVO 14 software was used to count the data. The researcher collected the data from the journal through SIELE journal website. After analyzing the data, this study found that the most frequently used. Three articles were selected from the website. The most frequently used word throughout the three journals is 'text'. The three journals have the fewest high frequency words are ‘number’ and ‘total’. Top 5 words found in academic fields (test, discussions, students, corpus and native). This study found that there were 3 classifications: simple high frequency words, semi-high frequency words and acaemic high frequency words
