Abstract
Social support assistance received or given to others. Optimism refers to a positive way and mindset towards the future when an individual reflects on the causes of an experience. School Well-being relates to feelings of safety, comfort, and support felt in the school environment. This study aims to determine the effect of social support and optimism on school well-being in vocational high school students living in dormitories. The research subjects numbered 98 people, with a Non-Probability Sampling Technique through the Saturated Sample method. Using a social support scale adapted from Fadiya (2020) totaling 25 items, an optimism scale (10 items), Rochman (2024), with a total of 10 items, a school well-being scale (48 items), Abdillah (2022). Data analysis used Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results showed that social support had a significant negative effect on school well-being, while optimism had a significant positive effect. This means that the higher the social support received, the lower the level of school well-being of vocational high school students living in dormitories. On the other hand, the higher the optimism, the higher the level of school well-being in students.
