Abstract
Film is a tool that conveys various messages to the general public through stories. It can also be interpreted as a form of artistic expression through which artists and filmmakers can express their ideas. There are many messages we can take away from a movie, whether they're about economic conditions, the government, or romance, or whether they contain moral messages. Movies can be very informative and educational, and they can inspire us if we open our minds and try to understand them. This film tells the story of a counseling teacher named Mrs. Prani who gets into a dispute with a visitor at the market. When the dispute occurred, someone recorded it without her knowledge and uploaded the video to social media. The video went viral and received negative comments from netizens. They considered Mrs. Prani's attitude unbecoming of a teacher. This study aims to analyze mental health in the 2023 movie Budi Peketi. The qualitative methodology used is Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis. The data collection techniques used were observation and documentation. The results of this study show that the movie Budi Pekerti deeply presents various forms of mental health or psychological distress experienced by characters in social and family contexts.
