Abstract

Subdistrict XIII Koto Kampar there are several caged goldfish cultivation which are quite potential but have not been able to achieve optimal production results. The aims of this study were to analyze: (1) Farmer characteristics and goldfish farming profiles; (2) the use of production factors, costs, income and efficiency of carp farming; (3) the influence of production factors on the production of carp farming in XIII Koto Kampar district. This study used a survey method, which was carried out in Koto Mesjid Village, XIII sub-district, Koto Kampar from August 2021 to January 2022. The number of samples was taken as many as 30 carp farmers who were taken at random (simple random sampling). The data analysis used in this study was descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as multiple regression analysis using the Cobb-douglass method. The results showed that: (1) The characteristics of carp farmers include being 36.80 years old (productive), 12 years of education (equivalent to high school), 9.53 years of farming experience (classified as old), and having 3 dependents in the family (small). The farm profile consists of an average annual sales of IDR 1,312,483,980/year, an initial capital of IDR 160,525,533, and a total workforce of 3 people. (2) Carp farming shows that with an average farmer cage area of 700.80 m3, (a) Inputs used include 48,890 carp seeds/production period, 22,334 kg of comfeed feed/production period, and workforce of 113.50 HOK/production period. (b) Production costs of Rp. 293,375,391/production period, with the largest cost component being feed, which is Rp. 232,270,133 (79.17%). (c) Gross income was obtained in the amount of IDR 437,494,660/production period, with a production of 17,157 kg and a selling price of IDR 25,500/kg. While the net income is IDR 144,119,269/production period. (d) The RCR is 1.49, meaning that the farming is efficient and feasible to work on. (3) The factors that have a significant effect on goldfish production are the variable area of cages and the amount of feed with a significance level of 0,05.
