Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction and main effect of mycorrhizal biofertilizers and KCl on the growth of stevia plants (Stevia rebaudiana B.) in peat media. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted from November 2022 to February 2023. This study used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the mycorrhizal biofertilizer which consisted of 4 levels, namely without fertilizer application, 15 g, 30 g, and 45 g. The second factor was KCl consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely without KCl, 0.8 g, 1.6 g, and 2.4 g. Parameters observed were the increase in the number of branches, the age at harvest, the increase in the number of leaves, the fresh weight of the leaves, the dry weight of the leaves, the number of roots, the volume of the roots and the level of sweetness test. Observational data were analyzed statistically and followed by Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the interaction of mycorrhizal biofertilizers and KCl has a significant effect on the parameters of the number of branches, harvesting age, increase in the number of leaves, leaf wet weight, leaf dry weight, number of roots, root volume and taste test of sweetness level. The best treatment was a combination of 45 g/plant mycorrhizal biofertilizer and 2.4 g KCl/plant. The main effect of biological mycorrhizal fertilizers and KCl was significant on the number of branches, harvesting age, increase in the number of leaves, fresh weight of leaves, dry weight of leaves, number of roots, root volume and taste test on the level of sweetness. The best treatment was a combination of 45 g/plant mycorrhizal biofertilizer and 2.4 g KCl/plant
