Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effect of rice husk biochar and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 on the growth and production of honey gourd plants (Cucurbita moschata). The research has been carried out in the Faculty's Experimental garden Riau Islamic University Agriculture, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution No. 113, Ward Cold Water, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was carried out for 4 months from August to November 2022. This research using Completely Randomized Design consisting of two factors. Factor the first is Rice Husk Biochar which consists of 4 levels namely 0.720, 1.44, 2.16 kg per plot. The second is NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 which consists of 4 levels namely 0, 7.2, 14.4 and 21.6 g per plant resulting in 16 treatment combinations consisting of 3 replications so that there are 48 experimental units. On each In the experimental unit there were 4 plants and 2 plants were taken as samples randomly so that the total number of plants is 192 plants. Parameter observed the age of flowering, harvesting age, stem diameter, fruit weight of the plant, fruit length per fruit, fruit weight per fruit. The research results show that interactively rice husk biochar compost and Mutiara NPK 16:16:16 no significantly different on the parameters of flowering age. The best treatment is the combination of biochar rice husk 2.16 kg per plot and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 21.6 g per plant.
