Abstract

This research was conducted in Batu Kacang Village and Surrounding, Singkep Subdistrict, Lingga District, Riau Islands Province. Geographically, the study area is located at coordinates 104°30'34.85"E - 0°28'6.62"S and 104°32'44.25"E - 0°30'16.91"S. This study aims to assess the feasibility of geotourism potential and its development efforts in the area. The research methods used include geotourism destination mapping, lithology sampling, geotourism feasibility analysis, and a SWOT analysis of the study area. The data analyzed included geomorphological, petrological, and petrographic analyses, structural geological analyses, and quantitative and qualitative geotourism analyses. The results revealed the geomorphology of the study area as consisting of gently sloping denudational lowlands and moderately steep structural hills. The lithology of the study area is phyllite, schist, and granite. Geological structures encountered include fractures that predominantly trend southeast-northwest and faults that trend northwestsoutheast. Two geotourism attractions in the study area have already become attractions: Batu Ampar Waterfall and Singkep Hot Springs. Three potential geotourism attractions in the study area are Lake 1, Lake 2, and Lake 3. Based on the analysis of the geotourism assessment criteria, Batu Ampar Waterfall and Singkep Hot Springs received the highest score of 24 points. The SWOT analysis, from a tourism perspective, highlights the strengths and educational value of Batu Ampar Waterfall and Singkep Hot Springs.
