Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the interaction effect as well as the main effect of rice husk ash and water hyacinth compost on the growth and production of cabbage plants. The research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution, KM 11 No.113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study lasted for 4 months starting from September to December 2022. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely the first factor rice husk ash consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 125, 250, and 375 g/plant. The second factor of water hyacinth compost consisted of 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 250, 500 and 750 g per plant. Parameters observed were plant height, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, number of leaves, age of shoot formation, harvest age, crop circumference, plant fresh weight, head weight and root volume. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of rice husk ash and water hyacinth compost was significant for all observation parameters. The best treatment was a combination of 375 g of rice husk ash per plant and 750 g of water hyacinth compost per plant. The main effect of rice husk ash is significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was rice husk ash 375 g per plant. The main effect of water hyacinth compost is significant for all observation parameters. The best treatment is water hyacinth compost with a dose of 750 g per plant.
