Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of competence and motivation on organizational commitment and employee performance, with workload as an intervening variable. The research involved a sample of 163 respondents, and the data collection method used was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using a quantitative approach supported by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Smart PLS 3.0 application. The results of the study demonstrate that competence has a significant effect on organizational commitment, competence has a significant effect on employee performance, motivation has a significant effect on organizational commitment, but motivation does not have a significant effect on employee performance. Competence and motivation significantly influence organizational commitment; however, competence and motivation do not significantly influence employee performance. Additionally, competence and motivation do not have a significant simultaneous effect on organizational commitment through workload as an intervening variable, and competence and motivation do not have a significant effect on employee performance at Bank Riau Kepri Syariah.
