Abstract
Muhammad Jeki NPM 224121013, Research with the title "The Effect of Palm Oil Waste Compost and Catfish Pond Waste POC on the Growth and Production of Chili Peppers (Capsicum Frutescens L.) in Former Oil Palm Land". The research was conducted on the superior land of the Faculty of Agriculture, Pasir Pengaraian University, Rokan Hulu Regency, from September 2024 to January 2025. The research aims to determine the effect of the interaction of palm oil waste compost and catfish pond waste POC, the main effect of palm oil waste compost and the main effect of catfish pond waste POC on the growth and production of chili peppers (Capsicum frutescens l.) in former oil palm land. The design used in this research is a Factorial Randomized Block Design consisting of two factors. The first factor, the dose of palm oil waste compost consists of 4 levels: doses of 0, 10, 20 and 30 tons/ha and the second factor, the concentration of catfish pond waste POC consists of 4 levels: control (0%), catfish pond waste POC 250 ml/L (25%), 500 ml/L (50%) and 750 ml/L (75%). Parameters observed: plant height, number of branches, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fresh weight of fruit per plant and number of remaining fruit per plant. Observation data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance in the advanced test of Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) at the 5% level. The results showed no interaction between the application of palm oil waste compost and catfish pond waste POC on each parameter. There was a main effect of palm oil waste compost on the weight and number of fruits with the best dose of 20 tons/ha. There was a main effect of catfish pond waste POC on plant height, number of branches, flowering age, harvest age, weight and number of fruits in the best treatments, namely 0% and 25%.
