Abstract

A criminal act is a human act that is against the law, punishable by law, which action is carried out by a person who can be accounted for and can be blamed on the maker. One of the crimes that often occurs in Indonesia is Narcotics. Although the police have made various efforts to eradicate narcotics crime. However, law enforcement is still relatively weak because perpetrators of narcotics crimes are still found every year in the jurisdiction of the Siak Police. The main problem of this research is how to enforce the law against narcotics crimes committed within the jurisdiction of the Siak Police and what are the obstacles in law enforcement against narcotics crimes committed within the jurisdiction of the Siak Police. The research method used in this research is observational or survey legal research. By the nature of this research is descriptive. The results of the research that the authors obtained were that the implementation of law enforcement against narcotics crimes was carried out with preventive and repressive measures. The Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Siak Police as law enforcers confirmed that there were many obstacles in eradicating narcotics crimes from their side, including the lack of facilities and infrastructure, the lack of investigative personnel when carrying out repressive efforts for both male and female police personnel, lack of community cooperation against the police regarding information on narcotics crimes related to narcotics crimes that are currently happening in the midst of society, the lack of quality human resources owned by investigators when carrying out investigations.
