Abstract
The phenomenon of violence in dating experienced by women appears in public life, one of which has been handled by government agencies, namely the DP3A in the Pekanbaru city area in 2021 there was one case of violence involving a woman, the reported violence was in the form of minor injuries perpetrated by her partner. DP3A officials stated that there were indeed many victims of dating violence who reported via telephone or web surveys, but when the victims were directed to the office to fill out further administration, many victims did not dare to continue the case with various forms of reasons. So this will have an impact on the psychology of victims and on the development and future of victims who experience violence. This research is motivated by how the factors that cause violence against women in the Pekanbaru city area are viewed from a criminological aspect so that to fulfill criminal elements a legal process must be carried out in accordance with the criminal justice system and is proven by Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence which where this law can be used in cases of dating violence because there are elements of crime or crime. The main problem in this study is how the factors that cause violence against women in the Pekanbaru city area are viewed from a criminological aspect and how are legal settlements in tackling violence against women in the Pekanbaru city area. This type of research is sociological legal research to study and find theories in the occurrence and operation of social law in the form of empirical research. The nature of this research is the description of the analysis which aims to be able to provide a clear picture of the problem being considered and studied. In this case the researcher conducted interviews with several respondents, namely the Deputy Head of the Pekanbaru Police, the Head of the Pekanbaru Police PPA Unit, the Pekanbaru Police PPA Investigators. Based on the results of the study it can be understood that the factors that led to the occurrence of criminal acts of violence against women in the city of Pekanbaru were internal factors consisting of age, gender, education and religion, then there were external factors, namely, family environment, economy and social environment. In addition, the results of research on prevention and control efforts that have been carried out are divided into two, namely preventive, which is an initial action to prevent violence from occurring and repressive, which is an action taken after the occurrence of violence against women within the family or outside. family environment so that in order to provide a form of legal protection against criminal acts of dating violence in the jurisdiction of the Pekanbaru Police.
