Abstract

With the increasing popularity of computers, desktop or mobile, the number of systems running on all computers in the world has also increased, and in this modern era the complexity of computer systems is increasing, the more vulnerabilities caused by the complexity of computer systems in this modern era. Therefore we need a way to ensure that the system running on a computer is safe and free from all vulnerabilities and one of the ways or methods to ensure a computer system is safe is to implement an activity called penetration testing. Penetration testing or what is often abbreviated as pentesting is a method for checking the security of a system by checking the system manually or automatically using additional tools such as a vulnerability scanner. And the penetration testing category is divided into two, namely black box (penetration testing without knowing the source code of the system to be tested) and white box (penetration testing with access to the source code on the system to be tested). For penetration testing in the black box category, we need additional tools, namely a vulnerability scanner to carry out tests automatically. However, with so many scanners circulating on the internet, it is difficult to determine which scanner is more effective than other scanners. Therefore it is necessary to do a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of existing scanners.
