Abstract

In carrying out the activities of an educational institution, attendance is one of the important instruments used in determining the presence and absence of students. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 4 Kampar is a school located on Jalan Raya PekanbaruBangkinang Km.35, Koto Perambuhan Village, Kampa District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province which monitors student attendance and absence in the conventional way, namely the School Administration (TU) will print a list of student names for each class and given to each teacher who teaches in that class to be checked one by one. This is done daily for each class and for each incoming teacher. To overcome the drawbacks and risks in using conventional attendance, a Student Attendance Monitoring System with Web-Based Email Notifications at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 4 Kampar is needed. When the teacher checks absences in the Absent, Permission or Sickness category, the system will automatically send notifications via email to parents of students in real time. After conducting black box testing, the results obtained were that the system was successfully built without errors or malfunctions and was able to monitor student attendance with a percentage of 94.17%.
