Abstract

uring the Covid-19 Pandemic, many companies and entrepreneurs experienced a decrease in their income, which forced them to lay off workers and lay off their workers/employees, so that their businesses would not close or go out of business. Employees who are laid off only get half their salary, while employees who are laid off make them lose their livelihood. he main problem in this research is how legal protection is for workers who are laid off and laid off due to the Covid-19 pandemic and what legal action can be taken by workers against companies that are detrimental to them. The method in this research is classified as empirical legal research, namely research with data obtained directly from a predetermined location with the aim of obtaining direct information and supporting explanations as a source of data, such as interviews and observations. Empirical legal research is used to analyze law which is seen as patterned social behavior in people's lives that always interact and relate to social aspects. While the nature of this research is descriptive. Researchers conducted interviews with those who were laid off and laid off as well as the company PT. Tri Bakti Sarimas Kuantan Mudik. The results of writing in this study can be concluded that the implementation of legal protection that occurred against workers who previously worked at PT. Tri Bakti Sarimas Kuantan Mudik has been implemented well, because it has followed Law no. 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower. So that in accordance with the applicable law, workers who are laid off or laid off still get their rights, even though in fulfilling their obligations to the workers they send home and lay off they are slow in giving their rights to those in need.
