Abstract

Corporate social responsibility towards the environment is basically regulated in Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning limited liability companies which regulates how companies should carry out their obligation to the surrounding environment, not only to the social community but also to the principles of sustainable development in the natural surroundings. As for the formulation of the problem in this study, namely 1. How is the Implementation of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V in Environmental Preservation Based on Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Liability Companies? 2. What Are the Obstacles in the Implementation of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V in Environmental Preservation Based on Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Liability Companies? This research method is classified as observational research which is carried out by survey method, namely by direct research using data collection tools in the form of interviews. The conclusion that the writer uses in this writing is by drawing inductive conclusions that depart from specific or specific matters to general matters. The results of the study show that first, the implementation of corporate social responsibility in environmental preservation by PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V Riau Province has basically not been carried out as it should be considering that there are several PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V movements towards the environment, especially for Sumatran elephants by making elephant paths in conservation elephant. Second, the inhibiting factor for PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V, which is based on the author's interviews with informants, can occur due to internal and external factors, namely land expansion in collaboration with the community related to the development of oil palm land, and caused by the PT operating the same plantation management.
