Abstract

Legal action in the prosecution of Traffic and Road Transportation violations is examined according to a quick examination procedure and may be subject to a fine based on a court order. Enforcement of road violations is carried out by issuing a ticket for traffic and road transportation violators. The prosecution of traffic and road transportation violations based on Law No. 22 of 2009 is categorized as a minor criminal offense. The existence of a ticket and a fine that must be applied to traffic violations on the road is not categorized as a minor crime in criminal law. Based on the thoughts above, it can be formulated that there are two main problems in this study, namely how the factors of traffic violations by high school students (SMA) in the legal area of Pangkalan Kuras district and how traffic control efforts are carried out by high school students ( SMA) in the Legal Territory of Pangkalan Kuras District and How Traffic Management Efforts Are Made by High School Students in the Pangkalan Kuras District Legal Area. The method used in this thesis is a sociological legal research method, and uses the type of primary data obtained by using the interview method and the type of secondary data obtained by the library research method, by reviewing various literatures, laws and regulations and expert opinions. The results showed that the factors of traffic violations committed by high school (SMA) students in the legal area of the base Kuras sub-district were environmental factors, lack of legal awareness, lack of public awareness, indiscipline factors, and ignorance factors. Traffic countermeasures are carried out by high school students in the legal area of Pangkalan Kuras sub-district, namely prevention (preventive) and repressive (repressive) efforts. Prevention efforts are socializing with schools about traffic violations and traffic signs, providing understanding to students who use their own vehicles to go to school, conducting regular patrols, and providing early education related to traffic problems. While the repressive efforts are to do ticketing, reprimand and confiscation.
