Abstract

Public service is an activity or series of activities in the context of fulfilling service needs in accordance with laws and regulations for every citizen and resident of goods, services, and/or administrative services provided by public service providers, while innovation is an idea, practice, or objects that are considered new by individuals from one unit of adoption to another. The purpose of this study is to analyze the service innovation of Population Document Issuance at the Department of Population and Civil Registration in the Meranti Islands Regency and to find out the obstacles to service innovation and improve it so that the public population document issuance service is more effective and efficient. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach using descriptive. In this study, information was collected from respondents, namely the Head of the Office and the Head of Population and Civil Registration, the Head of the UPT. Civil Servants, Village Apparatus and Community. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the service innovation of the population and civil registration services in the issuance of population documents carried out by the Civil Population Service of Meranti Islands Regency is carried out according to the desired goal to improve the quality of excellent service to the community, but there are still some obstacles. encountered in the community such as lack of public awareness, there are still some areas that do not have a good internet network and lack of good management in an agency. With this innovation, it is hoped that it will increase public awareness in the ownership of population documents.
