Abstract

Development of the Riverside Tourism Area, Kampung Bandar Village, Pekanbaru City is a place that was previously neglected and has now become a tourist spot. To find out and identify the role of the government, the Pekanbaru Heritage Walk community, and the surrounding community in the development of riverside tourism in Bandar village. The research method uses qualitative research methods as a technique for data collection and direct interviews with informants from the Riau Province Tourism Office, Pekanbaru City Tourism Office , Pekanbaru Heritage Walk Community, Communities who live around Kampung Bandar and the general public. The results showed that the development of the Riverside Tourism Area in Kampung Bandar Village, Pekanbaru City was only carried out by non-government parties and there were no policies and actions taken by the Pekanbaru City Government. This can be seen from several indicators. natural areas that can be optimized, such as the banks of the Siak river, Pekanbaru city, next to the Pelindo port, the undersea market (tourist market), there is the house of the KADI host which used to be a stopover for the sultan of Siak, and also a mural that promotes Pokan dialect tourism. Second, Cultural Attraction, the indicator of cultural attractiveness in the Bandar village area has a distinctive language culture, namely the Pokan dialect which intersects with Malay and mining languages, this is also exposed by art groups who draw murals and also Bubble Chat on the walls as well as residents' houses with the aim of making the Kampung Bandar area more beautiful and clean. The obstacles found in this study are First, Community Awareness, in this case the researchers found obstacles that caused the Kampung Bandar area not to become a tourism area that was officially recognized by the Pekanbaru City Government due to the lack of awareness of some Kampung Bandar people to maintain cleanliness and care for beauty. The occurrence of vandalism in the existing mural should become a potential for Kampung Bandar to become a tourism village in Pekanbaru City. secondly, the role of the Pekanbaru City Government in this case based on the results of the research conducted by the researchers is very apparent and it is clear that there is no role for the Pekanbaru City Government in making Kampung Bandar become a tourism area in Pekanbaru City.
