Abstract

The construction of housing and settlements is an effort to fulfill basic human needs and improve the quality of the living environment, as well as to provide direction for regional growth, expand employment opportunities, and stimulate economic activity to increase and distribute people's welfare. Housing construction in the West Sidumulyo Kelurahan started in 2016 and continues to increase, resulting in an impact on community structure and the environment. This affected the socio-economic conditions of the local people who previously worked in the plantation sector. Housing development triggers many migrants to seek work, trade, and business in the service sector, as well as influencing social values and people's views on health and education. Therefore the purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the development of West Sidomuliyo housing and the Socio-Economic Conditions of the Community. The method used in this study is to identify the distribution of housing using indicators of the distribution of settlements or housing in the Kelurahan and to analyze it using a quantitative descriptive analysis method using primary and secondary data in the form of graphs or tables using multiple linear regression analysis and correlation tests. The data used in the analysis are questionnaire answers and interviews directly from the respondents. From the results of the analysis, there are two indicators that have no effect on housing development, namely education and health infrastructure. Income and employment indicators have criteria of less influence and influence on housing development. Social interaction indicators have closed criteria and multiple linear regression analysis shows significant results.
