Abstract
The design of a TEC cooling system using a solar power plant on a fishing boat aims as an alternative to cooling fish on a fishing boat and reduces the development of bacteria in fish so that fish can maintain freshness and quality. At this time the fishing boats used by fishermen in Dumai City still use cooling using ice blocks. However, a block of ice has a time limit and how long it takes to search. By using TEC technology to replace ice blocks as cooling fish and maximize the electrical energy generated on the solar panels on the boat. The results obtained from this plan are the specifications and sizes of the cooling system components, namely: a cooler box is obtained that is needed by fishermen with a length = 85 cm, width = 60 cm, height = 60 cm, volume = 306 cm with a thickness of 5 cm and made from The cooling box material is polystyrene, the TEC cooling system components are as follows: 3 TEC units with length = 4 cm , width = 4 cm , 3.5 cm high with 360 Watt power, 3 units of hot side fans with length = 10 cm , length = 10 cm , width = 10 cm , height 2.5 cm with 25.2 Watt power, 3 units of cold side fans with length = 4 cm , width = 4 cm , height 2.6 cm with 18 Watt power , 3 units of Heatsink with aluminum material and length = 10 cm , width = 10 cm , height = 2.5 cm , 3 coldsink units with aluminum material and length = 4 cm , width = 4 cm , height = 1.8 cm and thermal insulator with foam material and length = 5 cm , width = 5 cm , 0.5 cm thick. Then you can get working drawings for installing a tec cooling system using a solar power plant on a fishing boat. The insulation in the cooler box that will be used is polystyrene material with a material thickness of 5 cm and a conduction heat transfer load of 0.704 Watt. the total power load per day of the TEC cooling system on fishing boats is 2882.4 Watt/d and can cover the cooling load on fishing boats with an average fish income of 128.8 kg with a cooling load of 2,488 Watt. 2
