Abstract
Public awareness of halal products is no longer limited to food and beverages, but has also expanded to personal care products that come into direct contact with the skin. As Muslims, ensuring the halal nature of the products we use is an obligation to avoid ingredients prohibited by Islamic law. However, an emerging phenomenon suggests that some TikTok users, particularly the younger generation, prioritize influencer recommendations and product suitability over halal logos. This study aims to analyze halal awareness among TikTok users when choosing personal care products with halal logos. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to understand the meaning of life from the respondents' experiences. The research location in this research design was Pekanbaru City, Riau, focusing on all women aged 20-24 years. This study used a purposive sampling technique with four respondents. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Triangulation of sources, techniques, and time was used to test data credibility. The results of this study are an overview of halal awareness among TikTok users in choosing personal care products with the halal logo. This can be influenced by several factors, namely cognitive, religious, and the TikTok platform. Individuals can find information about products with the halal logo by using the TikTok application and by viewing information provided by TikTok influencers. This study recommends that Muslims, especially TikTok users, must have self-awareness in choosing personal care products with the halal logo.
