Abstract

The self-concept of JKT48 senior fans in managing fanaticism behavior. Fanaticism means a strong bond within a fan where they have a strong sense of love and support for JKT48. And they are also willing to spend their money just to buy merchandise, photopacks, lighticks, albums and all items related to their idols and all of that is a form of fanaticism behavior carried out by JKT48 senior fans in Pekanbaru city. This study aims to find out how the self-concept of JKT48 senior fans in Pekanbaru city in managing fanaticism. By using the Qualitative phenomenological research method. The subjects in this study were 5 (five) JKT48 senior fans obtained through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity techniques used triangulation methods. The results of this study indicate that senior JKT48 fans can manage fanaticism in Pekanbaru city have a positive self-concept with the following characteristics: Senior JKT48 fans in Pekanbaru city can accept and know themselves well, they consciously strive to continue to develop into a good person for the future. This shows that they have a positive self-concept, because they are able to take responsibility for themselves and their lives. And senior JKT48 fans can balance the various roles they undertake, both as workers, JKT48 fans, and as heads of families in everyday life. Fanaticism behavior carried out by JKT48 fans is something that does not harm anyone, their fanaticism behavior is only to provide support and seek pleasure. JKT48 fans are always united in terms of goodness and also always follow their idols as long as they are positive things. The form of fanaticism behavior in JKT48 fans in Pekanbaru city can be seen from several aspects such as fans' efforts to meet with JKT48, then fans who participate in a series of events held by JKT48, do not forget to buy and collect merchandise, then participate in community activities.
